Bridges - Railway - Engineering View.

This bridge was completed in January 1899. It is a large bridge for its date, given its height, length and maximum span. The main spans consist of six, 76.2m truss spans totalling 457.3m. This was exceeded only by two other previous Australian Truss Bridges: the first Hawkesbury rail bridge (1889, 875m, no longer existing); and Algebuckina (1891, 586m). There were, in addition, eight 15.2m metal plate girder approaches, which form a significant bridge in their own right, another sixteen timber g
