Birds - Red-backed Fairy Wrens

Stock Photography By Paul Ross

View images of the Red-backed Fairy Wrens - Malurus melanocephalus in their natural habitat. These tiny birds are only 13cms in length with males and females represented here. I have been watching these intriguing and quick moving little birds for months. Males, in breeding season, are sooty black with crimson red feathers across the shoulders while females are a sandy color. Non breeding males are a similar color to the females.
