Paul Gobert: Freelance Photographer Malanda

Photographer Profile

Photographer Work Description
My main field of interest is Nature Photography. Studies and Close-ups of native wildlife. Low contrast rainforest scenics.
Living on the Atherton Tablelands in Far Nth Queensland gives me easy access to The Wet Tropics and the diversity of wildlife it contains. The location is also a base for access to the Coast and Outback.
Photojournalism is another service that I offer.

Qualifications & Experience
Self taught over the last 40 years. Steepest learning curve was when I started teaching photography and judging photographs at regional Shows. Strong technical background now enhanced by craftmanship.
Many of my photos have been used in Australian and overseas publications.
My articles and photographs have been published in Australian magazines.
The Far Nth Queensland tourism industry has used a lot of my images.

Other Interests:
Photography: Film from 35mm up to 6 x 9cm. Have mostly used colour reversal film (slides) as that was what the publishing industry used to prefer. Currently using digital for scenics and general photography but retaining 35mm for closeup work.
Travel: Enjoy travelling and photographing in local and distant places especially natural areas. My permit with EPA allows me access to some special places.
Automotive: Peugeot fanatic.
Gardening: Yard full of Bromeliads.
Technology: Fascinated by it.
